Preparing for storm season is key to minimising the post-disaster recovery by reducing the amount of green waste and unnecessary rubbish from around private and commercial properties. SEE can assist councils and private enterprise with this task by processing and sorting the waste on-site or at a nearby facility.
During the warmer months Australia usually experiences more coastal crossings of cyclones and large tropical lows. When this happens communities will experience a spike in waste created from the storms, including debris from structural damage and vast amounts of green waste. SEE’s Lindner machines are transportable, meaning they can be deployed on-site after a disaster to sort and process a range of waste types including biomass, demolition waste, concrete, wood, metal, glass, and general waste created from wind, rain or flood damage.
Processing all kinds of materials including green waste, biomass, wood, metal, C&D and tyres, the volume of waste was reduced by up to 80% while certain materials such as metal were then ready for recycling. This video shows the Urraco 75 in action on location in North Queensland. Not only is the Urraco transportable, but is also remote controlled enabling it to be easily moved around a processing site.
